These are all examples of IT (information technology) devices, which communicate via a number of different types of communication platforms, including wireless fidelity (WiFi) which is one type of local area network technology; Bluetooth, which connects mobile devices without wires; 3G (third generation) GSM (Global System for Mobile communications in addition to general packet radio service (GPRS) data services; data networking services for mobile phones; data networking services which use modems and phone lines known as dial-up services; and secure access to private network.

There are many benefits to a business that is highly mobile. First of all mobile computing can improve the service which a business can provide its customers. For instance, while conducting a meeting with a customer it is possible to go to your customer relationship management system immediately while still in the meeting, on your laptop over the internet. You can also use a wireless payment terminal when dining with clients to pay for the meal, without ever having to get up from the table.

While working away from the office it doesn’t mean that you have lost contact with the office. With the right laptop solutions it is possible to constantly stay connect to the office with continuous contact with your database and accounting systems, allowing you to set up a new customer account, check prices or availability of items, or to place an order, without ever having to enter the office.  With the new hi-tech mobility there is never a reason to lose a business opportunity.
